History of American Conservatism (150 mins): This course offers a comprehensive overview of the evolution of conservative thought and policy in the United States, tracing its roots from the philosophies of the founding fathers through to the influential movements of the 21st century. Students will explore key ideological milestones, such as the rise of the Republican Party, the conservative response to the New Deal, the impact of figures like Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan, and the modern conservative movements shaping today's political landscape. Through lectures, readings, and discussions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how conservatism has influenced American political, social, and economic policies over the centuries.
